Monday Jul 26, 2010 Several mobile phones were seized from LTTE suspects remanded at the Colombo Remand Prison after a sudden inspection was carried out by the prison officials on the premises, Prison Commissioner General Maj. Gen. V. R Silva told Daily Mirror online.
He added that these mobile phones were recovered after a surprise search was carried out in the prison and that steps had been already taken to curb inmates receiving banned material from outsiders. Some of these steps include registering persons visiting the inmates and the prison, he added.
