Founded in 2005, the Tharunayata Hetak is an organisation operating islandwide, especially in the marginalised and less privileged societies, fully dedicated to cater to the needs and aspirations of the youth of the country, sans any racial, religious or political bias.
It aims to develop and fine tune skills of the youth, in a manner they could contribute to national development.
They have been of yeoman service to the nation's youth, particularly in cultivating and fostering good moral and social values within them, and build-up a 'Drugs-Free' society. They have organised several programmes to this end.
'Tharunayata Hetak' has also engaged in meritorious and charitable work, such as the construction of a swimming pool for the Sri Jayawardenapura and Jaffna Campuses and a new ward complex for the Army Hospital in Anuradhapura, among others. They had also organised the popular 'Carlton Supercross' Motor Rally, to raise funds for its envisaged charitable activities.
They are arranging 40 seminars for those sitting the forthcoming G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination.
